The following instructions must be observed to ensure safe, proper, and fault-free use of the product.<\/p>

DL Kunststofftechnik GmbH accepts no liability for damage, defects, or consequential damage resulting from improper use, incorrect or unprofessional assembly, failure to observe this user information, or use outside the intended conditions. The customer's statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.<\/p>

1. General<\/strong><\/p>

All work must be carried out in compliance with the applicable occupational health and safety, safety, and accident prevention regulations, as well as the recognized rules of technology. All persons involved must wear the necessary personal protective equipment.<\/p>

Pipes and tanks for wastewater, sewage, urea, or fuels must be permanently and clearly marked\u2014either visually or in writing\u2014with the words \u201cNot for drinking\u201d to prevent misuse. Since even with correct labeling, confusion cannot be completely ruled out, it is recommended that suitable safety mechanisms (e.g., child-proof valves) be installed at all taps.<\/p>

2. Composition<\/strong><\/p>

The product is made of high-density polyethylene (PE-HD), which has properties such as food safety, excellent resistance to diesel, seawater, acids, and alkalis, temperature resistance up to 80\u00b0C (diesel and urea up to 50\u00b0C), odor impermeability, low density (approx. 0.96 g\/cm\u00b3), good UV and aging resistance, corrosion resistance, and excellent electrical insulation properties.<\/p>

3. Construction<\/strong><\/p>

Each product must have at least one separate vent at its highest point. This applies even if such openings were not installed at the factory.<\/p>

The tank system must be designed and operated in such a way that neither excess pressure nor impermissible negative pressure can develop in the tank. In particular, a permanently functional vent must be ensured.<\/p>

Liter figures, volume specifications, or fill quantities specified, calculated, or expected by the customer are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute a warranted characteristic. The drawing approved by the customer is the sole basis for the design, construction, and manufacture of the product.<\/p>

DL Kunststofftechnik GmbH is entitled to make design adjustments\u2014particularly to baffle walls. Separate consent from the customer is not required for this.<\/p>

For white tanks, black weld seams are used unless expressly agreed otherwise. Due to design requirements, threaded areas are generally reinforced from the inside by approximately 8 mm.<\/p>

Baffles are not attached to the tank lid unless this is expressly and unambiguously specified in the drawing.<\/p>

4. Installation<\/strong><\/p>

Before installation or assembly, the product must be inspected for damage, leaks, dimensional accuracy, and proper functionality (e.g., by performing a test fill). Any manufacturing residues must be completely removed before commissioning. Failure to do so may result in blockages, malfunctions, or consequential damage to the product and connected systems.<\/p>

Do not use any sharp or pointed objects during installation. Ensure that, once installed, the product is permanently protected against mechanical stress, movement, and torsion. Installation under stress or in a constricted space can lead to material fatigue, cracking, deformation, or sudden failure of the product.<\/p>

During installation, the temperature-induced expansion and contraction of the material must be taken into account. The tank must be installed in such a way that its temperature-induced changes in length and shape are not restricted.<\/p>

The tank bottom must rest fully and permanently on a sufficiently load-bearing, level, and stable surface\u2014even in the case of multi-stage or sloped designs.<\/p>

For securing the tank, straps, perforated belts, or similar fasteners must never be attached directly to weld seams. Attaching fasteners to weld seams can cause damage or detachment of the welds and, during operation, result in the product bursting or losing its seal.<\/p>

All threads must be properly sealed with suitable sealants.<\/p>

Installation in the engine compartment is not permitted.<\/p>

The pressure tests conducted at the factory or in accordance with the relevant standards or quality assurance procedures are intended solely to verify leak-tightness and structural integrity under the specified test conditions. These tests do not establish a permissible operating pressure or constitute approval for continuous operation under overpressure.<\/p>

No additional pressure tests beyond those specified by DL Kunststofftechnik GmbH or the relevant standards may be conducted without prior written approval from DL Kunststofftechnik GmbH. Unauthorized overpressure tests can lead to excessive stress and cause the product to deform or burst.<\/p>

Lifting and transport must only be performed by lifting from the bottom of the tank or using the designated lifting points or crane eyes. Improper lifting, particularly using improvised lifting points such as straps or loops, can lead to damage to the weld seam as well as deformation, cracking, leaks, or product failure.<\/p>

5. Warnings<\/strong><\/p>

The products must always be handled with care. They must be stored frost-free and protected from direct sunlight. No objects may be placed on the products.<\/p>

The products must be protected from fire and must not be exposed to mechanical, thermal, or chemical overload.<\/p>

Ventilation openings must not be used as overflows under any circumstances. Only liquids expressly specified in the offer or on the invoice may be filled into the products. In the case of shower trays, shower bases, wet rooms, or similar applications, a non-slip mat must be placed on the product to minimize the risk of accidents.<\/p>

6. Instruction for use and operation<\/strong><\/p>

The products must be handled with care. The products must never be dropped, as this can cause unacceptable damage that impairs their tightness, stability, and safe functioning. If products have been dropped or mechanically damaged, it is essential to carry out a new function and tightness test before further use.<\/p>

Before each filling and before each operation, check that:
\u2013 the vent pipe is functional, clear, and unobstructed,
\u2013 all cleaning openings are properly closed,
\u2013 All connections are securely and tightly connected with the designated hoses\/pipes.<\/p>

Ventilation
The vent line is a safety-related component. It must only be used for venting and must not be closed, kinked, narrowed, or used for any other purpose. A blocked or misused vent line can lead to unacceptable overpressure in the product.<\/p>

Filling and monitoring
The filling process must be monitored continuously. During filling, always check for leaks. Overfilling must be avoided at all costs.<\/p>

The product must not be filled completely. The maximum fill level of 95% must not be exceeded, as otherwise there will not be sufficient expansion space for the liquid to expand. Overfilling can lead to overpressure and failure or bursting of the product.<\/p>

Operating Conditions \u2013 Risk of Overpressure and Underpressure
The products must be operated exclusively under unpressurized conditions. Any form of overpressure or underpressure\u2014e.g., due to overfilling, blocked or improperly used vent lines, thermal expansion of the liquid, or suction against a closed or inadequately vented tank vent\u2014is prohibited. Failure to comply with the specifications for pressure-free operation may result in deformation, cracking, leaks, or product failure. There is a risk of significant injury, environmental damage, and property damage.

Filling with hazardous liquids
When filling with hazardous or water-polluting liquids, a suitable drip tray must be placed under the product to safely collect any spilled liquids.<\/p>

7. Maintenance<\/strong><\/p>

The product must be checked for leaks at least once a year and cleaned if necessary. As part of maintenance, all connecting parts must also be cleaned and checked to ensure that they are securely fastened and in good working order.<\/p>

8. Information for the disposal<\/strong><\/p>

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is a recyclable material.
