Technical information
The instructions listed below must be observed to ensure safe and proper functioning of the product. We accept no liability for damage or defects resulting from improper use, incorrect assembly, failure to observe these instructions or use under conditions not intended. The customer's statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this.
1. General
For all work, the relevant occupational safety and accident prevention regulations must be observed, as well as the rules of technology and physics. Personal protective equipment required for the operation must be worn by all participants. All wastewater, fecal, urea and fuel lines should be labeled pictorially or in writing with the words "No Drinking Water" to prevent mistaken use. Since confusion can still occure even with correct labeling, child safety valves should be installed at all taps.
2. Composition
The product is made of high-density polyethylene (PE-HD), which has properties such as (food safety), very good resistance to diesel, seawater, acids and alkalis, temperature resistance up to 80°C (diesel and urea up to 50°C), odor impermeability, low density (approx. 0.96 g/cm³), good UV and aging resistance, corrosion resistance and excellent electrical insulation properties.
3. Construction
Each product must have a separate vent at the highest positions, even if these have not been installed at the factory. Literage or volume specifications calculated by the customer are not authoritative. The approved drawing is the sole basis for production. Adjustments or design changes to baffle walls may be made by DL Kunststofftechnik GmbH without the need for separate approval from the customer. Black weld seams are used as standard for white tanks, unless another design has been expressly agreed in advance. For all threads, the material thickness of the product is always increased by approx. 8 mm from the inside. Baffle plates are not attached to the tank lid unless this is explicitly and clearly specified in the drawing.
4. Installation
It is essential to check the products on possible damage, leaks, dimensional accuracy and function, e.g. by test filling, a.o., before installation. Any production residues must be removed before commissioning, e.g. by flushing the product with an appropriate medium. During installation, sharp and pointed objects must be avoided. The installation must ensure that the products are protected against tension, movement and torsion during use. The product may expand and contract when exposed to temperature. The bottom of the products, even in the case of (multi-)gratduated or oblique products, must rest on a stable base over the entire surface. To fix the products, belts, perforated tapes or similar must never be applied directly to the weld seams. All threads must be sealed with an appropriate sealant. The products must never be installed in the engine compartment. Overpressure tests by the customer may only be carried out after prior approval by DL Kunststofftechnik GmbH. The products may only be lifted and transported using the designated attachment points or lifting eyes, and only after prior approval. Improvised attachment points, e.g. using loops, straps or similar aids, are not permitted and must be avoided.
5. Warnings
Careful handling of the products is essential. The products must always be stored frost-free. The products must not be exposed to direct sunlight. No objects may be placed on them. Furthermore, the products must be protected from fire and must not be exposed to mechanical, thermal or chemical overload. The vents must never be used as overflows under any circumstances. Only the liquids specified in the offer or the invoice may be filled in. In the case of shower trays, wet rooms or similar, a non-slip base must be placed on the product to prevent possible slipping.
6. Instruction for use and operation
Never drop the products, as this may impair their function. However, if the products have been dropped, a new function test must be carried out before further use. Before each use, check that the vent line is in working order. The vent line must not be used for any purpose other than venting. During filling, all connections must be firmly connected to the hoses. Furthermore, always check for leaks and monitor the process to avoid overfilling. Do not fill the product completely (max. 95%) so that a.o. any expansion of the liquids can take place. The products are to be operated exclusively without pressure. When filling with hazardous liquids, a drip pan must be placed under the product.
7. Maintenance
The product must be checked for leaks and cleaned at 12-month intervals. When cleaning, also clean all connecting parts and check their functionality and tight fit.
8. Information for the disposal
The material high-density polyethylene (PE-HD) is recyclable and can therefore be handed in at the appropriate recycling centers or recycling yards.
